Volunteer and become a Habitat Hero!

Join public land managers in the effort to protect our natural areas from the threat of invasive plants. Whether you want to work as an individual or part of a group, whether you want to adopt a specific area you care about or join an existing project at a predetermined site, there are opportunities with the Habitat Heroes that will meet your needs. Join our group of land stewards for a training or invasive plant removal project and increase your knowledge of plant identification and management while helping defend wildlife habitat with others who care. Volunteer projects are available June through September.

Volunteer Opportunities

Join a Habitat Heroes Public Event

Habitat Heroes hosts training events and invasive plant removal projects at different sites every week of the summer (June - September). Many of these are open to the public, and we would love your help! No advanced training is required.

Most of the work sites are located in the Bridger-Teton National Forest or Grand Teton National Park. Habitat Heroes may do projects on state or private lands as well.

Events are usually 3 hours in duration, and they're a great way to start learning how to identify and remove invasive plants!

All events are led by Habitat Heroes volunteer Coordinators and tools and gloves are provided.

Advanced registration is required to join a Habitat Heroes public event. To register for an event, go to the calendar below, and select a public event you are interested in. Open the announcement in the pop-up window and follow the instructions to register. The event coordinator will contact you before the event to provide additional information.

Create a Private Habitat Heroes Event or Group

Do you see invasive plants overtaking one of your favorite wild spaces?
