Mosquito Update

Season Update

You have found the location for frequently updated information on mosquitoes and their control in Teton County, Wyoming. Look to this page for updates on ultra-low volume (ULV) spraying for adult mosquitoes in your area. Please note:  We do not spray adult mosquitoes for special events. All of our control work is based on surveillance data. To determine the need for adulticiding, we set a trap to see how many mosquitoes are in an area. If the number of mosquitoes caught in the trap does not meet minimum action thresholds, we will not spray for adults. If you would like to hire one of the local contractors to spray before your special event, the list can be found here.

WE ARE STILL LACKING LANDOWNER PREFERENCE INFORMATION: Please assure that you (and all of your neighbors) have indicated your preference regarding TCWP’s permission to access your property using the link here.

Summer 2022:  There are no adult mosquito treatments scheduled at this time.

West Nile Virus Update August 11 – No new positive pools have been found in the area, our team is continuing to monitor activity.

West Nile Virus Update July 11 – We are beginning to see West Nile Virus activity in the area.  Recently a sample of mosquitoes collected tested positive for the virus.  West Nile Virus is endemic in the U.S.  While this finding is not an unusual event, there are ways for the public to be pro-active and protect from mosquito borne disease.
