In order to enhance human and animal health and well-being and support the sustainability of our local resources, the District provides leadership, information and environmentally sound management of mosquitoes and other vectors and pests.
Given expressed landowner permission, all parcels producing or harboring mosquito species are offered free surveillance and control measures regardless of private or public ownership. This hinges on significant community participation to ensure area-wide benefits. The program incorporates larval, adult and disease surveillance, local and area-wide cultural, biorational and chemical control measures and education.
